[GoatedQuest 070 Prep Kit]
- Armored Core 2 -
Released on October 26th, 2000 for the PlayStation 2
"It is in this environment - a second home planet called Mars - that mankind began creating a new history.
For the Corporations, soldiers were nothing but expendable tools in the battlefields, and were held in low regard by society. However, the members of the Ravens, though they were soldiers as well, were guaranteed freedom and independence. They were admired and respected by all other soldiers. For those who had fled the Earth's extremely poor underground cities and were barely surviving as soldiers, becoming a Raven represented the highest status and admiration they could acquire. And so a new soldier aspires to become a member of the famed Ravens."

- Armored Core 2 Preview - IGN (June 5th, 2000)
- According to the game's developers, some things that weren't possible
in the PlayStation version are said to make an appearance here. In the
PS version, a total of only eight missiles could be launched at one
time. With the added power of PS2, a whopping 32 or so missiles may be
fired and you can even shoot down your enemy's rockets with your own.
From Software says that it's trying to keep the overall AC feel intact, and is concentrating most of its efforts on creating impressive visuals and an over- the-top feel for the game. The developers promise the best smoke and clouds effects yet.
- NextGen Alphas: Armored Core 2 - NextGen Magazine (June 2000)
- A deep backstory places you in the middle of a struggle between rival corporations, and as a mercenary with some robot piloting skills, you must choose which factions to work for in your quest to become “Nine Breaker” — the highest honor a soldier can attain. Unfortunately as you accept missions from one corporation, others will get angry with you, and subsequently stop offering you work, causing the storyline to change.

- Mijk Van Dijk writeup on his track made for the game's Opening CG
- In 2000 I had the honour to provide music for 2 PlayStation 2 video games: Ridge Racer V, a starting title for the PS2 and Armored Core 2, a robot fighting simulation. I’ve been a fan of the predecessor of both games, so I was very delighted to work on this. The opening scene of Armored Core 2 is so amazing, pretty advanced CG for the year 2000. One year later my track got remixed, reworked and released on vinyl on the Game Trax Vol.2 EP on Superstition Recordings.

- Only one Armored Core sentence in here, as this is more about the gaming landscape at the turn of the milennium. Still a very enlightening read!
